Stretch Yourself

Baby horse is developing nicely. Learning new things.
I love the way he uses himself.
Stretching.
Both his legs and his heart.

4 am and 75 degrees.
Why am I up at 4?
Because there is 5 hours time difference between New York and Hawaii.
That's why.
That and I can't sleep.
I am also stretching myself. Learning new things. Not content to wait and let things happen to me but go out into the world and make them happen.
So you want to be a writer?
You have to do more than just write.
You have to live life. Get out there and dive head first into situations and places you have never been before.
Emotionally.
Physically.
Mentally.
You have to learn what it is to be a writer.
Professionally and in your heart.
Like baby horse.
Stretching.
Reaching for what's ahead.
Willingly.

My husband told me the other day that he wanted to make sure I knew how much he admired my drive to do so many things, and be the best i can be at them. I have always loved just "doing stuff," but now, that stuff has a purpose....a goal in mind...
It makes the doing of "the stuff" all the more sweet, no matter what it is.

It is sweet isn't it?
The things you do make you who you are and help your writing.
