WHAT DO GHOST CRABS HAVE TO DO WITH WRITING?

THIS JUST ADDED: USA TODAY CALLS ME CANADIAN LOL!!
82 degrees and 9:30 am.
Those of you in Portland Oregon can have the pleasure of my company at Annie Bloom's Books on June 24 at 7:00 pm. I'll be there early to chat and hopefully drink mass amounts of coffee.
I then hop on a plane the next morning and head out to Seattle where I will be at Third Place Books on June 25th at 7:00 pm. I will also be there early as HONEY BEAR BAKERY is right next door and...well...let's just say I won't be low carb that week.

It's time to hunker down like a giant ghost crab.

Ghost crabs can be as small as your little finger or as large as a small cat but they have one thing in common: They're shy.
Really shy, skitter around just out of your line of sight, and hide in holes. They're nearly translucent and make you think you're seeing things. Ergo the name "Ghost Crab." Clever right?
I need to take a page from their book so to speak and create my own little private cubby hole to hide.
No interruptions.
No worries.
Just right.

Oh and this last part is for "ric"
and all the others who requested a photo of Baker Street. The last of my London photos...

Cool huh?

Very cool...I know what you mean about a writing "hole". I really need one of those.

Sherlock Holmes! I love a good mystery. I should go back and reread his stuff (Conan Doyle, that is).

i do a lot of writing/editing in long hand, so get 'unplugged' often, even the radio gets turned off, but the coffee pot does not! ;) lol

A writing hole, indeed. I mentioned to a friend the other day that I read about the Saratoga Springs writing retreat when I was a kid (unaware I lived within a couple hours of it) and still dream of going there someday. A cozy cabin with dinner delivered by basket to your door. Heaven!

Welcome home and happy trails all at the same time, Pat! Love the London photos, K.

That is SOOOOOO cool!

Thank you so much - hopefully, I'll get there before I forget why I wanted to go in the first place.

Thanks for sharing your special time with us.

Hey, I write in a hole all the time. My office is in a basement, remember? I so relate to those crabs!

Very Virginia Woolf -- as writers, we all need a room of our own.

Congratulations on your honourary Canadian citizenship. You will now be required to stick extra U's in your manuscripts.

Hey, just a minute... Does this mean they think Hawaii is part of Canada? I see potential in this circumstance.

Good luck on obtaining ghost crab status. When my mother wanted privacy and we kept calling, "Mom! Mom!" she threatened to change her name from Mom and not tell anyone what her new one was. So you see? Going undercover can be pretty simple and cheap, as long as you can keep your name a secret.

changing my name?! now why didn't I think of that.

I'll send you a maple leaf (snerk). USA TODAY! Hell, it's great to be featured, no matter what nationality you are.

You are mistaken for a Canadian because: a. You're so NICE and b. You were probably seen in a Toronto Maple Leaf sweater.

Those paparazzi just don't get it right.
