COMING ATTRACTIONS: TRIBUTE TO MISS SNARK...AUTHORLY QUIRKS...BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER ADDICTION...AND MORE...

I found these online. Don't ask.
And no...I did NOT buy them...but I was tempted...

7 am and 78 degrees.
I don't do memes. Heck for ages I didn't even know what a meme was. There are, however, times where my lack of response to internet/email chain letters builds up to such an extent that I HAVE to respond.
I was asked to list my quirks, addictions and foibles. So here goes.
QUIRKS:
We all have them. I seem to have more than my share. Where shall I start?
I make an entire full pot of coffee every morning -- pour myself a cup -- take three sips -- it gets cold so I dump it out and pour a fresh cup. I may make four pots of coffee a day but I only actually consume two cups. Really.
ADDICTIONS:
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER /ANGEL / SPIKE
I have the entire DVD collection. This is what I am doing while I'm supposed to be writing. I surf the net for news about Sarah Michelle Gellar and James Marsters.
I'm so lame.

FOIBLES:
Tooloose: Attending to his creature comforts and teasing him with my laser pointer.

ADDITIONAL BONUS QUIRKS:
I count things. I know this should be termed obsessive compulsive, but why quibble about details.
27 days until the trade paperback of LOTTERY is released.
22 days until I leave for London to attend the ORANGE PRIZE festivities.
13 days until I host a tribute to MISS SNARK for all of the snarklings.

Is there anything I'm forgetting?

Oh yeah...check out TOMORROWVILLE...

Have you tried http://www.punitiveshoes.com/index_en.shtml ?

Yes, you have forgotten something!

"58 days since I went to visit Holly in Canada and had the time of my life"

That shoe is either the absurd logical extreme in high heels or a new kind of training shoe for a ballerina.

CFMerina slippers??? Wow. I'm counting down the days until the Tribute. I shall not wear the cruel shoes though.

Stephanie J. Blake said...

What are you wearing to the Orange Prize thing?

Lisa R said...

Now those are F*** Me shoes! Seriously! Can't wait for the Miss Snark tribute.

ORION said...

I promise I will take a photo of what I am wearing...my husband is now wildly pleased that he will not have to wear a tux...

That is seriously the ugliest shoe I have ever seen. I think it would be even worse with a foot in it.

Tribute to Miss Snark?

I love how you snuck in the Snark.

That shoe look like ballerina toe shoe for dummies.

**Long Live Buffy!**

I *heart* Her Snarkness - can't wait to see if she pops in!

Sadly, I came to the party late when Miss Snark was around. So I completely missed out. But I've heard legends of her greatness. I will pop in to read the tribute.

Ouch!

And that's all I've got to say about that!

ORION said...

mlh- you should check out Miss Snark's archives - there's lots of great information there...
and yeah I know the shoes look toxic but I will make sacrifices for fashion LOL
(of course those of you who see what I wear on my boat will LRAO at this...)

I recently saw Rumer Willis (Bruce and Demi's oldest, I think) photographed in shoes like those. They look none too comfy.

Good luck with all you have coming up!

Janna Leadbetter said...

PS. Rumer was lying down, feet in the air. I don't think one could stand for longer than mere seconds in those puppies.

Those shoes look something like a modern day, tarty version of Dorothy's in Oz. Perhaps if you click the heels together, and just 'think of London' you can save yourself a horribly long flight and jet lag in your upcoming UK trip! :-)

PS: This week succeeded in getting our local book club to take 'Lottery' for review in August - so 8 paperbacks will go 'out your door' and off to Germany soon. Am thrilled, and as a bonus, I get to kick off the discussion.

I used to count things too! It can be overcome! It takes a lot of willpower but I can safely say that I am now cured. But I must not ever, ever start counting my horse show ribbons or I'll be right back into that pit of despair again.

I would not miss the Miss Snark tribute for anything!

So, were those the "training" shoes used for practice runs of the "The Red Shoes"? They look like toe shoes with a kick stand.
I anxiouly await your Snarky tribute. My life hasn't been the same without Miss Snark.

Ouch. Those shoes look very painful.

I used to count things, particularly stairs. Come to think of it, I did count the stairs when I climbed up into a small observation tower, recently. There were 50.

Orion, I never knew you loved Buffy...and Spike. Together, perhaps?!? Good heavens, but your fanfic would be good. Hee. I suppose now is the time to confess that I have a picture of me standing next to a lifesize cardboard cutout of Spike at DragonCon. We make a lovely couple, I think. :0P

Aw, Miss Snark. Sniffle.

Those ballet-point fetish shoes look awesomely cool, but could you imagine wearing them? I'd fall on my nose immediately!

Good luck at the Orange. Rooting for ya! Have you had any news about a possible movie of Lottery yet? Seems like it would be snapped up for one...

As far as coffee goes, you need a single-cup french press. And a microwave. Or a thermal caraffe!

Buffy Totally Rules Forever - said the 44 year old serious novelist pretending she is still so 23. Once a year my friends and I meet and watch the entire show - yes - from first to final episode in one weekend ignoring all children and significant others to convince ourselves that it never really ended. Is it Musical or Hush which deserves the best of all time?

ORION said...

I love the muscial "once more with feeling" but I think my favorite episode is the one with Glory where Buffy dies leaping off the tower...I'm such a sap for Spike...
I do SO need a life size cut out of Spike on my boat LOL!
And written wyrdd- FYI Sarah Michelle Gellar optioned the film rights to LOTTERY...
I would like to at least try these shoes LOL...

Squeee! Sara Michele Geller? OMG that is so awesome! I wish you riches and fortune and all that jazz associated with a movie deal.

I love Buffy, too, but not I'm not a fangrrl. Spike, to die for of course. Spike was a much better foil for Buffy than Angel, wasn't he?

Oh, man those shoes hurt just to look at.

Sustenance Scout said...

Oh man, I count everything. I thought maybe those shoes were a quirky Mother's Day present. :)

Smashing shoes...they look like ballet slippers a bit. En pointe, is that how it's termed?

They'd be good for warming one's lover's ears and not much else, I think. ;)

Polly Kahl said...

They look incredibly painful. And impossible to walk in on a moving boat. And what would Tooloose think?

Last week Doreen Orion, Robin Altman and I blogged about our fave shoes, with pictures if anyone wants to check them out. Gotta love the shoes.

VERY exciting about the softcover coming out - congrats!
