PAT AND EMILY'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE

This is my media escort Emily. She is really a princess in disguise.

TV ADVENTURE
I was filmed for AM NW and look what I discovered...
The green room is really green.

See Pat.
See Pat sign.
Sign Pat sign.

Finding LOTTERY on the new releases table at Barnes and Noble.

READING AND TALKING ADVENTURE

MEETING BLOGGING BUDDIES AND THEIR FRIENDS.

I met so many great readers and drank many lattes.
AND NOW?
My bags are packed and I have to say Aloha to Portland. I arrive in Seattle tomorrow to start my excellent adventure all over again.

Looks like a blast! What do you talk about with the group? That's a beautiful photo of you at the new release table. I have a new Verizon Treo phone - with camera. I'm on the lookout for Lottery so I can take a snap and send it to you! Enjoy Seattle and the best coffee of all.

We talked about why I wrote LOTTERY and why I made the choices I did. Also I read and tried to make them cry.
It was really fun.

Beautiful outfit, great color. Do you find you get nervous before speaking in front of others? I have given quite a few presentations over the years and I still find my heart thundering and my legs going all swimmy before I start.

After years of teaching high school and having rowdy students eat me up and spit me out.
No.
I do not get nervous when speaking to polite adults who want to listen to me.

You look gorgeous in these photos. Which isn't to mean that you don't look gorgeous in real life.

Or on television.

Or sound terrific on the radio.

oh. never mind.

I forgot about the teaching. Yes, you must have nerves of steel.

Question: What's it like reading from your book? I think I would faint dead away if I had to read from MY book. Someone elses, yeah, sure. But mine? I know I'd never do the characters justice, and they'd come and kill me in my sleep.

I love the color of your outfit. You look great and I'm sure it went really well. Good luck in Seattle and don't drink all the coffee -- save some for me!

She made me cry, a little, in public, no less! She read it how I pictured it as I had been reading. Pat is the real deal, authentic, classy, and brilliant! Also inspiring. I just wish we had more time to visit. Aloha. Valerie

Yea! You're coming to Seattle. Been trying to spread the word about how great your book is so maybe some extra people will show up at Elliott Bay.
