STRANGER THAN FICTION...

What are the chances...

That a car in the parking lot gets its throttle stuck and it richochets off a MERCEDES...takes out a dock box, electrical conduit, a eight foot tall metal gate, rides down the dock between two sailboats and plunges into the water with the driver swimming to safety and the boats undamaged?
What are the chances that it happens two boats down from a novelist?
This is SO going in my next book...
oh and the car is sitting in 16 feet of water and will need to be removed with a crane...What are the chances?

This reminds me of my French oral exam at 16!!! I was given a card showing a photo of a car floating in the harbour in a pretty French town. Five minutes to prepare and discuss in the exam. I was 16! What did I say? The reason for him driving his car into the water after the party..."il était tellement ivre." Just what every 16 year old needs to know in French.

Glad the driver was OK.(And the boats too.)

Love this story.
Shudder to think how close it came to your boat, though.

I'm with Dawn. You made it all up. That would never happen in real life. Ever. Too far fetched. Take it out!

That's the great thing about being a writer: everything is fodder.

Well, the chances are.... you needed stuff for another book. I say it makes a SWELL opening, don't you? By the way, Panda is on my blog today. He's waiting to skype.
