I used to live just outside of Washington DC in Alexandria Virginia while I was stationed at Ft. Belvoir. This was in the turbulent '70's.
I remember the monuments, the Smithsonian and the mall. I am there today in spirit.
This is a great day to be an American and from Hawaii.

It's a great day. I think the school system in Hawaii should be VERY proud. And a big nod to the Punahou Marching Band!
I am actually not at all confident that Obama will be the savior so many people think he is, but more power to him. Hopefully he proves me wrong. May his time in office prove beneficial to all.
I certainly would not want the job (President), so I'm not about to criticize another's methods.

My sister said a similiar thing (hope is a powerful thing). I think that's what America needs right now and I hope Obama is able to get all the problems under control. It's a big, big job.
