LOTTERY PAPERBACK RELEASED TODAY ALONG WITH ANOTHER INSTALLMENT OF PAT'S EXCELLENT LONDON ADVENTURE...

With the LOTTERY paperback released I thought I'd celebrate...
Okay so maybe I'm not the brightest bulb in the Christmas light string but going on the LONDON EYE seemed like a fun celebratory thing to do.

And then um...it went up...

And up...

It was at that point I remembered my fear of heights.
And then I noticed the sign on the door:

Believe me when I tell you it was the farthest thing from my mind...

We were feeling a little boat-sick so a cruise on the Thames was just what the doctor ordered.

THIS IS LONDON.
THAT'S A BRIDGE.
Any Questions?

And shouldn't it be London Bridges? With an "s"?
And of course no trip to London is complete without a photo of the Tower of London...

Or an order of fish and chips and peas...

And finally a trip to see William Morris Agency London offices with the extraordinary Cathryn S. my UK agent...She totally UBER ROCKS!

And just to let you know how TOTALLY William Morris UBER-UBER ROCKS they have four (4) FOUR authors on the Orange Shortlist (3 on the Fiction list and 1 on the new author list).
How cool is that?
I am not worthy...I am not worthy...I am not worthy...

The English love peas! I noticed that when I was there. Good luck. Only a few hours left.

Patricia, you are worthy! My teenaged son agrees – he’s reading Lottery now. I just reviewed Lottery in my blog.

Welcome to England and best of luck tonight!

Anissa, my husband likes to quote:

I eat my peas with honey;
I’ve done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on the knife.

I did the London Eye with the kids, but it wasn't fun because they thought it would whip around faster...

We are so excited for you Pat. This blog, with your
photos show how incredibly great this experience is for you. Amazing to think, when you were in your vessel, Orion, a couple of years ago, working so hard, that it would lead to such wonderful doors being open. Things you couldn't really imagine...All the people you have touched, all the experience you have gained, all the fun you and Gordon are able to gave, together, because of your tenacity, creativity, steadfastness, enthusiasm, research.. this list goes on and on. You are truly an inspiration to many..AND a THE winner to all you have touched. A true "pioneer" .. HAVE FUN and thanks for the ride(S), in letting us share in your joy..All the best, Mary

Hello,

I noticed you'll be coming through Portland, OR, soon (Annie Bloom's, my neighborhood bookstore) and then remembered that Susan Wiggs mentioned you on her blog. And, now I see you live in Hawaii. All this has me wondering if we ever met in passing at MWC. (I've workshopped with Elizabeth George, Gail Tsukiyama, Terry B., Elizabeth E., and so on...).

In any case, thought I'd drop a line to say I'm looking forward to hearing you talk in big part because I'm interested in the debut-novelist perspective, especially when it comes to self-promotion and that kind of thing.

Congratulation on your success, cheers, Lisa

Thank you for some lovely pictures. My fear of heights is such that I have never even been near the London Eye. So I would never have that sign about not leaning on the door without your photo.

Ah, I thought the London Eye was a total scream.

(I think that bridge is called Tower Bridge though....!)

Glad you enjoyed your UK trip, I'm generally OK with heights, but the London Eye does get a little too rich for my blood at its height.

The photo is indeed of Tower Bridge, rather than London Bridge. I've never been sufficiently interested to check whether it's called Tower Bridge because it's next to the Tower of London, or because it has towers on it.
