A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO ROSE TREMAINE 2008 ORANGE PRIZE WINNER

The Orange Party at the Royal Festival Hall.

It was such an amazing experience and one I'll never forget. Right now if I never see another pair of high heels it will be too soon. My feet are THAT sore...

My agent Dorian Karchmar and my UK editor Jason Arthur.
Everyone was thrilled that LOTTERY was short listed for the Orange Prize and when Rose Tremaine was announced as the winner for her novel THE ROAD HOME we knew hers was a well deserved win.
So it's a day off tomorrow, then packing and after that the long plane ride home.
Thank you ORANGE PRIZE COMMITTEE for a fabulous experience.
Much Aloha to you all.

Rose Tremain's first novel was published in '76.She was previously nominated in 2004. What an incredible experience to have been shortlisted alongside her eleventh book. Congratulations and who knows what your future holds? Looks like you had an awesome time in England and you look fabulous in the photos. Safe travels back. While you're adjusting to jet lag next week, we'll be off to the shops to get the paperback of LOTTERY.

Well . . . while I am sorry you didn't win . . . I still am wildly jealous of you so that must mean you are doing something right.

Seriously though, hon, congrats again on the nomination! You deserved it, and I have no doubt there will be many other opportunities to show them Orange jurors what you are made of (which, just for clarification, is awesomeness). You is a force to be reconed with!

And hon, next time, there is nothing wrong with flats.

Everyone has expressed all the appropriate sentimentalities. So ditto all that stuff.

Let's focus on next year. Where are you in terms of secondary characters and sub-plots? How's your editing coming along? Filling in those plot holes? Sprucing up those verbs? Because we want to see an Orange on your boat.....
:-)

Well, I said I had two horses in this race, you and Rose.

I would have preferred to see you snag it, of course, but there's no shame in losing to Ms. Tremaine; I think she's one of the great writers of the late 20th century. And how many novels does she have? Ten? Twenty?

Hell, you're just getting rolling...!

Never mind. You were OUR pick and our WINNER.
