PATRICIA'S HORRIBLE TERRIBLE VERY BAD NO GOOD DAY

It started out kind of good. I got the hot-off-the-press trade paperback of LOTTERY in the mail which was keen.

Then I trundled over to the north shore and hopped on Baby Horse...

That was pretty cool too.
And then I got the brilliant idea to clean and fill the water trough.
Bad idea.
Bad.
Very bad.
Underneath the water trough (that looks suspiciously like a bath tub) there resided numerous denizens of the stingy-buzzy variety and they took exception to my intrusion.
Translation:
I was stung once on my hand, once on my arm and twice on my ankle by really irritated hornets...and you know Perry was right... The ones that hurt most ARE close to the bone.
Benadryingly yours,
The author formerly known as Patricia Wood and soon to be known as the woman who looks like she got a botox injection and not just on her lips...

It could have been worse. You could have been seriously allegic to hornet stings. And I would send you a case of Benadryl, but I had a nasty bout of the chicken pox/shingles for about three weeks. So I used mine all up.

But atleast you had the chance to enjoy a few good things before all the bad happened.

Oh, so sorry. That hurts. We have a lot of stingy buzzy things, here, so I know that kind of pain. Healing hugs to you, Pat.

Life could be worse...you could have no horse!

When are you gonna write about your ponies, btw?? I can't have any here, far too expensive, so I get my kicks from you and Heidi the Hicks horses.

Please, give me some pony posts. :)

Oh, no! Don't scratch! Have a cocktail to take your mind off the pain. Maybe a few cocktails.

Ouch! My dog and I got stung by hornets while hiking a few years ago--not the best day.

(Yay paperback!!!)

At least you have the book and gorgeous horse to soothe the pain. I recommend ice, too... and baking soda and water.

How cool that Perry took the words right out of your mouth! I love when my characters turn out to be right!

Hope you're better soon!

Oh, Yikes! I hope you feel better soon. Vinegar helps, too.

Yo, nice sticker thingy on your book. I put a Stephen Colbert sticker on mine. It says "The Stephen Colbert Award For The Literary Excellence."

Not a real award but it looks cool.

I just discovered it's impossible for me to write while on benadryl...
Kind of like the guy waking up in the morning with a girl he brought home from a bar the night before while inebriated...I mean it looks okay at the time but later...well...not so good.

EWWW!! Poor you!
Next to goats, I am afraid of bees. I hope you are feeling beter by the time I post this.

My younger son said the Japanese hornet is unusually large. He's been watching the Discovery Channel. I'm curious. Maybe I'll post about the Japanese Hornet.

Did you clear out the hives?

Ouch. And that's all I have to say about that. Feel better soon.

Ow! Feel better soon! I got stung several times when pruning a hedge, leaning in for that last little bit at the top... They hurt. But I don't react to them like you apparently do, you poor lady!

Benedryl is making you loopy, sounds like. Well, don't drink with it or it'll get worse!

Oh man, that hurts. And it don't look too purty either.

Awww, poor Pat!! There is little worse in life than being stung; especially multiple times!!!

I'm glad you aren't me. I go into anaphylactic shock when I get stung once by a honeybee. Multiple stings by hornets, I'd just be dead. You're very lucky you aren't allergic!

Congrats on all the LOTTERY recognition!
