The only excusable distraction will be this Thursday from 9am to 9pm eastern US time where EE will be on my blog for a partay to celebrate the release of Novel Deviations 3.
(For your writing exercise, make that runon sentence coherent)

LOL!! I love your ADD posts! Although I have a suspicion that you're nearly complete the tenth novel.....
:-)

Ouch! I've had days like this.
Also, maybe this is a blond question, but what's a router?!

It connects me to my wireless internet. I can just unplug my airporter rather than unpluging my cable which would be harder

Patricia...

This is about every other day for me.... seven hours at the computer can translate to barely a page on a bad day... but sometimes only a few hours can be very productive...

oh, hey, maybe that's the formula... limited work time, many fun breaks !!!!

(by the way, I forget the water for my coffee often... but that's better than forgetting the coffee grounds.)

This sounds way too much like me.

It sounds like we are both writers who look for inspiration in similar ways. I'd gladly escape under the sea any time I can.

As for Australian vacation spots, I recommend driving the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne up to Kangaroo Island, where (sadly enough) there are almost as many kangaroo and wallaby road kill as there are live animals. There are also koalas and penguins on Kangaroo Island.

If you can spare the time and expense, be sure to stay on an island near the outer barrier reef. Lizard Island is one of those places most only dream about, and the price reflects it, but the food, the pampering, the Great Barrier Reef dives, and even the snorkeling from shore are well worth the price.

Finally, if you're up for a more unusual vacation spot, try El Questro up in the Outback. They feature a handful of guest rooms on a working ranch. Options include horse back riding, fishing, natural hot springs, and scenery that would have to be seen to be believed.

By the way, I posted a book review of "Lottery" on my blog, the Damian Daily at: http://damiandaily.wordpress.com/

If I receive a review copy of your next book, I'll be sure to post a review of that as well.

Sounds an awful lot like life up here, only we have more snow and my dog stays off the keyboard. Somehow, stuff gets written :)

ORION said...

Hey what a great review! Thanks- Oh I DO so want to dive the Great Barrier Reef...
Trish - Dogs on keyboards???!!!

Hilarious! That actually sounds a lot like my days when I don't have to go to my paying job and get to write all day. I think the only time I actually get much writing done is when I unplug the modem. Otherwise it's just too easy to start surfing instead of writing.

Unplugging the internet.

Brilliant!

Sounds like the perfect day.

Minus the seasick.

Australia and kangaroos are particularly distracting. I have an evil husband who went there without me. Cruel, cruel man.
