LOTTERY READING GUIDE
10 am and 84 degrees.
I told Touloose about how cool the LOTTERY reading guide looks.
He looked at me with kitty skepticism and said, "Yeah well?"
UK NEWS: LOTTERY IN THE WINTER CATALOG
I showed him the catalog from my UK publisher. "Look Touloose!" I said excitedly. "I'm lead title and I made the cover!"
He covered his face with his paws and said, "Enough already! You made the cover of the Putnam catalog! Do you have to tell me every little detail?"
And then the phone rings.
"LOTTERY IS NOW IN ITS SECOND PRINTING!!!!" Happy voices proclaim.
"SECOND PRINTING?" I screamed. "Is that a good thing?" I ask.
"THIS IS A VERY GOOD THING!" The emails and voices ensure.
I hear cheering and the sound of clapping hands by happy Putnamites.
And I know it will be a merry evening in Putamland.
I wake both cats.
"LOTTERY IS IN ITS SECOND PRINTING!!!!!" I scream.
Touloose marches to the galley and does this:
"LOTTERY LOTTERY LOTTERY!!! ENOUGH ABOUT LOTTERY!! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT YOUR STUPID BOOK! CAN'T YOU TALK ABOUT IMPORTANT THINGS LIKE THE GLOBAL WARMING AFFECT ON CATNIP AND KITTY LITTER? AND WHAT ABOUT CAT FOOD? HAVE YOU TAKEN ONE MINUTE TO CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY THAT WE NEED TO BE FED????!!!!"
I ponder this later as I finish my letter to the editor on the status of the world catnip supply.
I have to go feed my cats now.
Bye.

Congrats!!
I share Touloose's POV on all of this. Gimme that plastic bag!!
Example: I went to bed at 2:00 a.m. after writing late last night, and then Pat shook me awake two hours later at 4:30 (minutes before a live radio interview she was doing) to tell me Lottery had gone into it's 2nd printing.
Hmmm.... or maybe Toulouse was previewing what he'll do to you tonite when you wake him again?
Beware the cat.
Holly --if you find Pat suffocated by the cat, please just send me her laptop. I don't have one anymore, and I'd like to have first dibs.
Woohoo!
Congrats, Pat!
That is so cool.
That's hilarious Pat, and that's one patient cat to pose for that plastic bag photo. Although he does look like he's trying to get the heck out of there.
You need a kitty who know how to properly celebrate good news: with a rub against the ankles and a loud purr. Congrats.
This is great news! I'm so glad for you. And jealous, lol.
At least Touloose is polite.
My cat, Fifty Cent (better known as Fiddy), doesn't mince words.
He walks over to the keyboard and curses at me. Loudly.
If I'm lucky, I'm not in the middle of typing a message to a blogpal without word verification, so his wrath isn't shared with the world.
We both send our congrats and would like to join you in a victory dance tomorrow evening, if that's OK? Can I buy you a drink? Fiddy would like to come, too, but I haven't got room left in my luggage after I pack the clothes you reminded me I needed.
Whoo, second printing! Cover of catalogue! Awesome!
Congrats!
