"Why Christmas?" you ask.
Because you get presents on Christmas.
Like these:
Penguin Group cup.
Penguin Tee shirt.
Penguin golf balls.
And.
More hardback books.
and my:
AUDIO CD NARRATED BY PAUL MICHAEL WHO DID DAVINCI CODE!!!!
I put it into my computer and hit play.
And Perry L. Crandall's voice came out exactly as I imagined it.
EXACTLY.
Tears running down my face. I played the first chapter and the last. It was PERFECT!
I am a Paul Michael fan.
Big time!!!!
So I recommend any and all Audio CDs that he does.
Especially mine.
LOTTERY.
One
more
month
to
go
before
Lottery
will
be
in
bookstores.
And now?
Contests.
I want contests...

It's hard to wait, I know. But soon enough Perry will be everywhere.
I am recording my book next week, starting the 11th.
Woof
Oh, totally cool. You're going to be in Everett too! That's even closer to home! And on a Saturday!
Did I say Saturday? I meant Sunday.
Hey John I just emailed you!
You'll be brilliant reading your book.
anti wife you better be there!
2pm at the Everett library--
Anybody up for coffee afterwards?
Happy Christmas.
Hi Pat -
I'll be at your Everett reading, and if you're inviting gushing sycophants to have coffee with you, I'll sign right up:).
Cool!
I am one avid coffee drinker!
I just sent you an email. I have read for just over an hour and am already on page 78.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!
Pat, how about creating an IQ test for readers? LOL! :) "Smart people buy Lottery."
KIM

Hi Pat,
Jason Pinter has an interesting contest posted on his blog:

Josie D.
Pat,
Why not a contest about why we love a certain mentally challenged indivual in our lives? I think that would make an awesome contest that will bode well for your book! :*)
I have to put this down in your comments trail:
Yesterday, after my family got home from dinner out, there were a few messages waiting on voicemail. My husband checked them while I was doing something else and when I made it into the kitchen he said, "We got a recorded message from some idiot about farting!"
Confused, I asked him to clarify. Was it a person's voice leaving the message? A man, a woman?
"No," he said. "It sounded like a tape recording, but it was some guy talking about how farting stinks and everyone farts. Crap like that. Anyhow, I was so disgusted, I deleted it."
Nuff said.
An hour later, Pat phoned and left a message, screeching: "Did you get Perry's voicemail message from earlier today?!! I got my audio version of Lottery and left an excerpt on your voicemail.
Call me."
Wow. I loved the Da Vinci Code on CD so I'm excited to hear Paul Michael read Lottery! You must be over the moon. It's not long to wait now but this last month may feel like a year. Awesome.
Coffee afterwards? Count me in! I'm up for whatever!
OMG, that is so funny that Perry left a message for Holly! And I've read the farting parts already!
I am always amazed when I read a book from an author whose main character is the opposite sex from the person writing it. Some that stick in my mind include Dear Zoe by Phillip Beard, Midwives by Chris Bocan'tspellhisnamerightsonotevengonnatry, and She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb. And now, Pat's book will be on that list!
I had a call from Pat, also. Hard to hear her. Some guy was talking in the background and wouldn't shut up.
*ducks, runs, evades*
OK.
Where is she?
Get out from under that couch Tarquini!
I know you're in there!!!
**squeaky voice**
There ain't nobody under this sofa but us dustbunnies.
Congratulations!
Can't wait to read it.
You come highly recommended by Kim Stag.
P.S. My chldren were playing "Christmas" when I woke up this morning.
Too bad you're not coming to my neck of the woods!
I ahve racked my brain for a witty and well thought out contest, and ...
I'm ashamed to say I have nothing.
Sorry, but I can't wait to buy my copy and read after all the wonderful things I've heard.
OH MY GOSH, THEY GIVE YOU FREE SWAG TOO!!!
Yeah, I'm low on contest ideas too.
I'll just have to get the book the old fashioned way. Walk into the store and BUY IT!!
Hey! I just noticed you're 28 days away from release. That's one PERIOD. Kinda funny for a writer, huh? LOL!!!
Oh gads, now I'm completely torn -- audio or hardcover?? Oh, the pressure...
I LOVE audiobooks, and I'm itching to hear my own character's voice come out of someone else's mouth. How cool. Dunno when that'll happen for me, though.
