THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME...THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME...THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE...

The only thing better than being back on ORION...

Is being back on ORION with a cup of coffee close by. Notice the logo on the cup.

7 am and 78 degrees.
God I needed that!
I have lots to say but will make this short and do more tomorrow.
WHAT A GREAT BOOK DEAL WILL GET YOU:
Do I get fancy clothes?
No.
Jewels?
No.
Exotic car?
No.
What I got:
Notice the rail on ORION.
For the first time in 3 years I did NOT have to sand and varnish my own teak rail. Gord and I actually PAID an expert to do it!
Ah the satisfaction...
Now that is pure unadulterated happiness.
What about you?
What makes you happy.
(besides coffee that is...)

What do I love? scratches head...sounds like a meme... I love cheesecake (best dessert), coffee (best drink) and reading and writing. There are lots of people and critters I love, but these are my favorite things or activities.

Glad you are home, safe and sound. All the feet made me laugh. I don't go for sparkly toes, but if I did, I'd want them to sparkle like yours. ;)

I haven't checked in for a few days so I was reading back through your last few posts, and - there seemed to be an abundance of toes - with lovely toenails. Sparkly and feminine.

I think it would make me very happy to do my toenails today. I want sequinned toenails!

OK demon as obstreperous as I am about tags (I hold them in as much esteem as dental work and applying for social security benefits) I will respond in my own special way!!!
Mwa ha ha...

Some novelists... they sell a book they buy a Porsche, start a rock band, go fill the cart at Target, dump husband/boyfriend/girlfriend #1 and move in hbg #2.

But not you.
You go out and find yet another money-maker.
You brand your toes.
Yes, that's right.
"The Lottery Toes."

I'm telling you, you're going to make a fortune.

Good for you! It's the little things...though I imagine sanding and oiling that rail is no small task. :)

Having been privileged to be on Orion, I can see how much work it would be to sand and varnish that railing yourself. I say good for you! Being a nearly famous author (will be absolutely famous after 8/2) should have its perks. Welcome home.

Um, there's something else besides coffee? Who knew.

Honestly Pat, I'm hoping that I can get one of those book deals some day, so that I can afford a new saddle and never have to ask my husband for help buying hay. I want all my vet bills paid on time, and still buy groceries for the family.

I just don't want to do a cashier job every again...

congratulations on your deal and your nicely done handywork!

I think that being at the store and having my daughter ask for something and being able to say "Yes!" would make me very happy.
Pedicures make me happy.
Donuts make me happy.:)
You know what would make me really, really happy? Getting a good enough book deal to pay off our student loans BEFORE my husband graduates from law school in two years . . .and trust me, it wouldn't take nearly as nice a deal as you got.I'm not picky.;)

Espresso (triple shot these days)
Quiet (a rarity in my life)
The words "we're done" from my editor, which seem a long way off as I dig into her editorial revisions letter this morning :(
